dc.description.abstractparticularly those holding high offices, are required to exercise their constitutional authority judiciously and for bona fide purpose in a transparent manner. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, they hold the office as a trustee under an oath of and secrecy to discharge their constitutional obligations honestly without fear and favour and to uphold the dignity, status and preserve its honor. Strict adherence to a high standard of ethical behaviour is necessary for honest functioning of the new social political and economic order. But to one's utter dismay anc frustration, some of the persons in authority have flouted th< ethical and legal norms with impunity. Some of the instances an highlighted in the instant paper.
